Kohler Command Valve Train
Measurements of Stock Kohler Valve Spring
Note: Values in Black are MM, Values in Red are INCHES
Valve Spring Shims
Shims used with Stock Springs to give a little more seat pressure to help eliminate valve float at higher RPMs.
Summit Racing Part# cca-4736-16
These are 1.25" OD, .814" ID .015" Thick Shim (sold in package of 16)
NOTE: The Key factor in shimming the springs is to not get coil bind. Using these Shims with Stock Springs will not produce coil bind (leaves about 0.008" - 0.010" Clearance between the coils)
Solid Lifters
A must have for engines that Rev past 5,000 RPM to guard against valve float
These are Small Block Chevy Solid Lifters (sold in packages of 1)
Adjustable Push Rods
These are a must if you plan to run the Solid Lifters in order to get the correct valve stem clearance.
Best Ones I have seen are from Command Performance as they are fully adjustable.
Push Rod Plates

Push Rod Template to Make your Own Push Rod Plates.
Simple copy the above picture to your PC and print the picture out 1:1 (very important to keep the scaling correct). Then trace the template onto a piece of metal and cut along the lines.
The template above is one that I designed on a CAD system.
I personally have 1 set on my Command Engine running stock rocker arms and adjustable push rods.
Can be used with Stock push rods and stock rocker arms.
Note: Have not tested with aftermarket roller rocker arms.
These help to keep the proper alignment between the Push Rod the rocker arm.
Can be used with the Head Stud Kit or with the Older Head Bolts.
