Command Automotive Tachometer Hook Up
Wiring Diagrams and Parts needed to Hook Up Most Automotive Tachometers
Typical Wiring Diagram

Above shows the wiring diagram for hooking up an Automotive style Tachometer.
Large Rectangle represents the Engine.
Parts Needed:
PNP Type Proximity Sensor
Triggering Coupler (Either Love Joy Coupler or Standard Coupler)
Love Joy Coupler Setup

This is what a LoveJoy Coupler looks like.

Love Joy Coupler has 3 Tabs that stick out. These Tabs will be used to trigger the tachometer. Can be found at Farm Implement Dealers. The Key thing to look for is the correct Inside Diameter for your Command Crankshaft.
Standard Coupler Setup

Note: With the set screws, it is recommended that you use some type of thread locking compound such as Loc-Tite.
A shield around this coupler is highly recommended as this coupler will be spinning at a high rate.
Note: The sensor shown in the Diagram is an Allen Bradley PNP Proximity Sensor that operates off 10 - 30 volts DC. It contains a red light at the end of the sensor to help with the sensor adjustment. It will light up the red bulb when the sensor is picking up the trigger (when the coupler passes by the sensor) if the sensor is with in rage (usually around 10mm - 15mm).
E-mail me if you need a Proximity Sensor.
